Feelings of disappointment and unfairness can be major impediments to feeling love and intimacy. Here’s a fast and effective way to transform feelings of disappointment and unfairness into appreciation.
This transformation frees the path to having more love and intimacy in your life. Who wouldn’t want that?
When healed, feelings of disappointment and unfairness transform into the experience of greater appreciation.
Appreciation allows us to experience joy and satisfaction with what we currently have, in whatever imperfect form that might take. This lack of expectation frees us from our own pre-judgments, allowing us to appreciate what is and more easily to create what we want.
This is especially true in the areas of intimacy and intimate relationships.
Disappointment and The Body-Psyche Guide To Inner Wisdom
Disappointment and unfairness are primarily functions of the spleen. So when we have chronic, unresolved feelings of disappointment and unfairness, it puts a stress on the physiological function of the spleen.
Physiologically, the spleen plays an important role in the immune system, and as a result those long-term unresolved feelings can negatively impact immune function, especially in the area of immune mistakes such as allergies.
Transform Your Disappointments into Appreciation
Here is a 25-minute guided meditation you can use to transform your feelings of disappointment and unfairness into appreciation.
Before you start the guided meditation, you’ll need to know where your spleen is. It’s on the left hand side of the body slightly towards the front, tucked just beneath the lower ribs. Here’s a photo of me with my hand on my spleen to show you exactly where it its.
To follow the guided meditations, find a comfortable seat where you can sit upright, with your feet resting on the ground. A fairly hard seat liking a dining chair is preferable to a cushy seat or couch.
After The Guided Meditation
After completing the guided meditation, there’s a good chance that you’ll have some strange or unfamiliar feelings in the areas that you explored, especially in your spleen and the ribs around it. That’s OK. It’s a sign that something has changed.
Once a change like this has been made, the body needs some time to re-adjust and adapt to those changes – updating other body locations and systems to support the new change.
Be curious and accepting of whatever you feel after the journey, and give yourself time to integrate.
If you feel drawn to do more work on transforming disappointment and unfairness, feel free to follow the guided guided meditation again in a day or two – but wait at least a day before going back to the guided meditation. Give your consciousness time to absorb an integrate the changes before giving it more new input.
Feel More Love
At some point after using this guided meditation, you might want to use the guided meditation in How to Open Your Heart to build on this transformation and further increase your experience of love.
Share Your Appreciation
You can reinforce your transformation from disappointment to appreciation by going out and taking action in the world. Who are the people you appreciate in your life? Take some time to let them know. The more you connect with and express your appreciation, the stronger your appreciation will get and the more connected you’ll feel to the people around you.
And feel free to share your experience and your appreciation in the comments below or using the social links to your left. I would appreciate your sharing this work with your friends.
